Cashco

Cashco, Inc. is a leading manufacturer and worldwide marketer of a broad line of industrial control products. Cashco, Inc. services their customers in industries including chemical, terminal storage, oil & gas, electronics, food and pharmaceutical through a worldwide network of offices and representatives. Cashco manufactures a proprietary line of self-contained regulators and control valves. The regulators are self-sufficient valves that control the flow based on line pressure at the regulator. By contrast, control valves control flow based on an external signal coming from a controller. Cashco valves control liquids and gases in industrial applications. The valves are sold through a network of manufacturers’ representatives. Cashco manufactures a full line of tank blanketing, pressure/vacuum conservation vents, emergency vents, flame and detonation arrestors. This market is specifically focused on oil & gas, storage facilities, terminals, and distribution centers.

Ceresist

Ceresist was established in 1996 as a ceramic-lined pipe manufacturer. Their piping was initially sold primarily to ceramic valve manufacturers as a complementary product to solve pipe wear downstream of control valves. Since then, Ceresist’s product portfolio has grown to include a wide array of abrasion-resistant process products, with many more in development. They have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and manufacturing ceramic piping, fittings, valves, orifice plates, and ancillary products. Ceresist’s products are designed with long-term service in mind. Utilizing the finest materials to manufacture their products ensures customers have the longest trouble-free and maintenance-free service life in the industry. Goodwin International

Established in 1949, Goodwin International specializes in heavy project engineering, offering comprehensive and streamlined solutions to a wide range of industries. The Trentham-based site offers unprecedented engineering capabilities that are demanded by the world’s largest organizations, for the most critical applications. Goodwin International market and sell their own valve products internationally, mainly to the petrochemical industry. They market and sell their large project engineering capability and also work with Goodwin Steel Castings, enabling them to supply machined castings. The large project engineering capability is project-based and utilises the core skillsets of our highly trained workforce to supply CNC machining; fabrication welding; non-destructive testing; assembly; coating and pressure testing. As a service orientated side of the business, the projects can vary in size, duration and complexity. Components can be up to 100 tonnes in weight and / or thousands of components. Our continued investment in our capabilities ensure that we deliver what our customers require, in the timeframes they need.

Noreva

The company Noreva GmbH (Non-Return Valves) was founded in August 2001 and started with 9 employees who were formerly working for Mannesmann Demag, the inventor of the nozzle check valve 1935. Noreva has continuously grown and currently has a staff of 55. All of these employees have many years experience with non-slam check valves. With their track record of supply, Noreva has developed an enviable reputation for quality and reliability of product at internationally competitive prices. Further adding to their strength, Noreva in 2007 joined the Goodwin PLC Group. Noreva is located in the industrial area of Mönchengladbach in Germany, where only some inventory is kept with the majority of their production being tailor-made to customer specifications. All Noreva non-slam check valves are characterized by non-slam closure, low pressure loss, metal-to-metal sealing and are considered maintenance free. Noreva check valves can be found all over the world in various industries, whether liquid or gaseous fluids, in different applications such as oil pipelines, utilities & offsite plants, chemical plants, compressor stations, power plants, water pumping stations, desalination plants, and various others.

Axial Flow (Non-Slam) Check Valves

The Axial Flow Non-Slam Nozzle Check Design is a significant step in innovation regarding check valves. The primary differentiation is their sizing and selection, tailoring the individual valve for the application’s process parameters. This philosophy differs significantly from the standard norm of selecting check valves based on their pipe size. Driven by the industry requirement to ensure surge mitigation, axial flow check valves are an unmatched check valve solution.

Offset Butterfly Valves

Compared to traditional valves, butterfly valves are smaller and lighter, making them ideal for space-conscious plant designs. However, conventional, high-performance or interference fit butterfly valves do not have the control or shut off requirements for high pressure, high-temperature applications. The Triple Offset design moves the center of rotation within the valve. It utilizes an ellipsoidal sealing geometry, allowing a wide range of metal seating materials to be used, providing zero-leakage performance on high temperatures, high pressure, and fire-safe applications. Compared to the double eccentric butterfly valve design, which is position seated and requires high friction to seal (this will accelerate seal wear due to friction), triple offset butterfly valves are torque seated. Excess rotation of the valve causes more significant interference between the disc and the seat due to the eccentric geometry. With the proper torque, they will meet bi-directional zero leakage shutoff per API 598.

Applications

Pipeline Transient Hydraulics

Hydraulic transients, also known as pressure surges, water hammer or pressure transients, are undesirable, and potentially catastrophic, the rise in pressure on a closed piping system with an incompressible process media. They are resultants of process disturbances which quickly and significantly impact the energy in the flowing media. As they are not desired operating conditions and can be caused by unpredicted equipment failure or operation, the impact of these transients on a piping system are not always compensated for. The largest concern, particularly for petroleum pipelines, is the over-pressurization leading to loss of containment and environmental impact. To reliably operate closed system pipelines with incompressible fluids, it is crucial to understand and plan for hydraulic transients. In North America mitigating these transient events is regulated by 49 CFR in the United States and CSA Z662 in Canada. These organizations also provide guidelines for component suitability used in mitigation of transient events.
